holley billet fuel filter

what direction of flow does the element face with the internal spring? haven't been able to find directions. thanks for your help.....bob

Are you talking about the ones in the fuel bowls behind the inlet nut? If so, the spring goes in first and tit faces the fuel line side. If it is and inline filter I would think the spring would go on the outlet side also.

Check this link, If this is what you are talking about, the filter drops in first towards the outlet side with the tit facing up, then the spring next.

thanks, the second one is the filter I have. so in case I am a dumass> the fuel flow would pass from the outside of the screen element to the center and then out the end.

Seems ass backwards to me also. Holley shows it the same in their video also at the 45 second mark.

The outside surface of the filter element has more surface area so it would take longer to clog. Right?

My Aeromotive fuel filters flow the same way, from the outside- in.
