Well, the boat is wrapped up for winter , so..
Like it says, I just put the boat away for winter she's winterized tucked away, and now I am thinking about this new motor build again. So I currently have a 557 short block being put together, and I have decided not to do power adder as it would only open a can of worms for the jet and being a half Stringer boat it probably would not be the smartest idea. To recap, this is an A impeller jet, 19 foot boat, 557 cubic inch , 2500 to 6500 RPM build, pump gas deal. Research indicates a set of scj heads would fit the bill with a custom cam. My tunnel ram would bolt on too. Or, afr's with a single dommy. What would you do with the dooe-r's that i have now?

I'm sure you are aware you'll need different pistons or to notch the current ones in your short block for either of those heads?.... Ahh winter projects!... Only reason I like winter!

A class racer or truck puller would own them if they were mine.

They are decent heads, milled pretty hard, ported nicely, stainless valves, etc..

If memory serves me the dooe heads are cast cj heads? I believe they would be better than the d3ve. What would take for them as a set. I am putting them on a stock 460 in a jet boat.

Yes, with the cam you would run in that application the intake valve relief would be modest.

$1300 plus the ride, setup for sft cam, 1.950 i believe off the top of my head, arp studs, comp 10 degree locks, retainers and springs, 3/8 guide plates, or $1450 and i will throw in the scorpion rockers too..
