Milodon Street and Strip Oil Pans 30929 How much Oil
I have a 460 with a Milodon 8 quart front sump pan and a windage tray. First word of caution, when installing a windage tray be sure the dipstick will work with it or drill a hole to accomodate it BEFORE putting the engine back together and into the car.
Anyway, should I run the full 8 quarts of oil with this pan? I'd think 6 might be adequate and low enough to cut down on windage. I don't go past 6400 RPM.
Thanks!

I fill mine mid-way on the add / full mark on the dipstick. I have around 2 liters leftover from 2, five liter jugs.
One liter is just slightly less than a us quart. I'm guessing around around 7-7 1/2 us quarts.

Personally, I would use the minimum amount of oil in the pan to still not have any problems ... finding that point won't be easy.
