429 Cobra Jet carburetors
Hi everyone:
I have a slightly modified CJ 466 that I have used the std. Quadrajet intake on. I have used the Q-jet 7040288 on this engine and it works fine, like stock should do.
I have been looking at the old Holley 6211 / 6212 / 6213 made for some Q-jet replacement OEM on brand X products back in the 70´s - as a potential replacement for the Q-jet. Anyone done this in the past? Did it work well for the Ford?
I used the 6213 on my big block Cowl Induction X back in the day and found it to work very well. These Holley carbs come up for sale every so often so I was wondering if an 800 cfm double pumper might be interesting on the Cobra Jet.
Holley made a kit to convert 4160 carbs to Ford A/T kickdown setup. Does anyone know if this is still available from Holley, then for a 4165 ?
Reason: I want to retain stock manifold and fuel system height, anything else will not clear the hood on my Spoiler.

I think you should just give up!
I'll take that car off your hands and your frustrations will be over.

That should not be a problem unless you need the transmission linkage on the carb..
Re: 429 Cobra Jet carburetors
The kit will not work with the 800 as it is a double pumper and the kickdown linkage interferes with the carb linkage.
