Re: 460 1976 Lincoln Mark iv
After looking at the video again the hose in the video you have hooked up to the side of carb is running to the vacuum port on the intake pull it off the and pull it off and plug the port on the intake.the side port on carb is for the distributer black vacuum hose with the white stripe looks to be going down to the exhaust manifold butter fly for cold start ups hook it to the bottom port in front of the carb. If you need pm me your number and I'll give you a call and try to explain it over to phone

id like to thanks 69f100 for his phone call help today,, got the hoses figured out to the carb.. he helped me identify a few parts i was not familiar with, even as a luxury car, my 1963 coupe de ville doesnt have all those hoses and roll back lights etc etc, so i needed some direction there.
in additional, that high pitched noise was in deed a leak around the carb base,, i tightened it down just a little bit more, not too tight, and it quit immediately,, YEA!!!
then,, i noticed a cut in the top of the hose that went in to the back of the carb, cut off that end and put it back on,,
engine running MUCH better,, changed the timing back up to 10 to see how it does.. and my vacuum was holding steady at 16. up from about 13,14 once i got all the hoses tapped off or property placed.
again, thanks to all that helped

Re: 460 1976 Lincoln Mark iv
after finally getting the new carb on, i had to order more parts to hook up the transmission kick down rod, i swear, the holley video is so vague, the carb they use isn't the street fighter i was hoping to figure out, so it does nt actually look and set up like you see on the video. so i ordered, 4 different sets of parts, i think i finally got the right set up,,
anyway, its running, but one start up, the engine light and buzzer stays on for about 3 or 4 minutes, and then shuts off,
so what does the engine light warn of on the 76 lincoln.. is there a separate light for the oil pressure or is it all encompassing of any number of things,,
what should i now be looking for to get that thing to shut off in what i would ting should be no more than 5 seconds or so..
