File recovery a success! Empty File recovery a success!

bounce I got my first Christmas santa present today. The computer geeks I took my old computer to have recovered all of my files, thousands of photos and videos, and most importantly the hundreds of CAD files I have drawn. Lord knows how many hours I have in those. That will not happen again, the new computer I bought a while back has a huge external hard-drive for backups. If you don't have one, I would strongly recommend getting one.

I use an online storage service too! Part of the package deal with Dell. Here's a screen shot of one of the drawings I used when I had my motorplate cut out on a waterjet. Also many thanks to David Willingham. Merry Christmas David santa .

Doug,

I'm glad you recovered it! That's got to be like a Christmas present in itself.

Doug,

Glad you got your data back.

I have a drive that went Tango Uniform here a couple months ago......I thought "no problem" because I have a backup drive. Unfortunately, it had been over a year since I backed up....I'm dumb.....

Care to share the particulars of your deal, like what was wrong with the drive, $$$ for the recovery, etc?

Thanks,

Greg

Greg, it turned out that the mother board fried. I got lucky the hard drive was okay, they removed it and plugged it in their computer and transferred everything to my external hard drive, $75. I have my external setup to automatically backup every Sunday. Plus I bought 100 of the best CD-R's available (MAM-A Gold Archival) and burned everything to them.
