i know i fugured i would stir up some shit !!!! you figure with the plate i mph at 161 so thats atleast a 8.50-8.60 pass , i figured a 400 on the fogger should get me where i want to be low 8s or high 7s

Re: 7's or bust !!!
Bruno good luck but I would make Damn sure you have a funny car cage and extra belts and restrains, for I saw how you skated at Windy trying to keep it in the grove.... Just make sure you are tied in really good..... If you feel anything wrong Damnit let off,, don't kill yourself......7 seconds is not very long and it happens quick.....

Re: 7's or bust !!!
How tight were you spinning it at 160mph Nick? If I remember it was up there, just not sure you got any "room" with your current gearing and converter to "get there".
Should be a real test for the head gaskets................

i think the heads will start to lift in the center before the head gaskets go !!!!
when i was testing before at 1/2 or 3/4 throttle it was 7200 on the first kit , but the last time i went out on the plate it was at 6200-6300 at the 1/4 w/ full throttle ........... does that make any sense ...who knows it should atleast run some 5.30's in the 1/8

Re: 7's or bust !!!
X2 on what Lem said. I also agree, from "reading" a lot of the stuff that comes in here for repair, the center of the head is what is lifting, and at the top row of head studs. I'm thinking it has something to do with the torque procedure/sequence, however I am not sure. As of now, I would suggest that the guys go back and retorque their head gaskets after they have seen a heat cycle, but before the engine gets leaned on real hard.
