We surely dont have the nicest track around. I also do not own the facility. The problem with this is I can admit my track is not the nicest in the world although we try to do the best we can. Gerry can not admit that either he is a dumb ass or his car is junk because he cant get it down the track.
1st year of bash 4.60 hardtail dragster wins S.pro. 2nd year of bash, 2 low 5 second door cars in final. 3rd yr bash 4.60 suspended dragster wins, 4.9 hardtail dragster runner-up and 4.90 door car in the semis. Several cars running mid to high 5s on 10 inch tire. These are facts not opinions!!

I've only been there once, but I liked it. The drive getting there and back was kinda ruff though.

I agree with Phillip, as I was announcing in the tower and saw Gerry do his lane swapping escapade from up high. I walked back to Gerry's pits to try to help him with his car, and he started mouthing about the track. When I heard this, I said bullshit and told him the next car down that left hand lane after him, was Kristina Lawyer, all of 4'11" and 110 lbs and she ran a 4.53 e.t. on spray,,,straight as an arrow. Then later Gerry found his bent camber plates etc. and realized his car was the problem.

I piloted Blake's 10.5 car to a 5.90 something, it had just rained, they dried it off and said "be careful".........was so humid the windshield in Cougs car fogged up and couldn't even see to get to the lanes..................so he says lol.
His car was f-cked plain and simple............easy to blame something else when you don't want to look like an ass.

Re: windy hollow is famous ......
If you count BOTH days of a weekend, I have been there 9 times as an observer; never raced my own car and just listened and watched to what was going on...
I heard a few complaints about it being narrow and also a few about how short the "shut down" length was BUT, only one time did I ever hear ANYBODY say anything bad about the starting line and first few hundred feet of the track. Can anyone here guess who it was...????????????????
Some people simply will never accept the fact that THEY may be the problem.

Re: windy hollow is famous ......
Our local 1/8th mile track is just as narrow and maybe a tad shorter.
Our 1/4 mile track is wider and has a huge shutdown, Windy still hooks harder.............

Is it Ky that has the video of Blake going down that pig path at Clarksville ? Black tracks from A-Z . Looked like a snake had crawled down the track...he never lifted and I do not recall him going on the net and whining about it.
One can drive or they can not

Re: windy hollow is famous ......
I like it where its at. Elsewhere wouldn't be as family oriented. The bigger the track, the less comrodery. We all had a fun time at Norwalk last year, but we were mostly all pitted together.

Re: windy hollow is famous ......
I've ran at Windy Hollow since 1975 in quite a few different cars. Never had a problem that wasn't weather related or mechanical. And , It's much better since Phillip Oakley has took the track over.My hats off to Phillip and his crew. Here's apost from the yellowbullet.......--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: windy hollow is famous ......
My 2 cents, The question on Y.B was what was the worst track you ever been to. Gerry said windy hollow. Thats just his opinion. He didn't bash wind hollow or call it a shit hole or any thing like that. He just stated it was the worst track he had been to. Maybe he has been to four 5 star tracks and windy hollow is rated a 4 star track. A 4 star track is pretty good but it still would be the worst for him because he was used to 5 star tracks. I'm just sayin

If it had been anybody else that had just said "windy hollow" then that might be the case, but from his previous bashing I doubt it.
