Ran my fastest 1/8 mile pass ever at Windy Hollow. Sure the walls are close, and you can see the other driver's eye twitch when you pass 'em, it just keeps things exciting...

Didn't he give the thumbs down to the track also? Just wondering why no one said anything to him also. Don't get me wrong I like the track and didn't seem like there was nothing wrong with it besides being a little narrow.

Jones,
There's other issues there. Sam is just about as close to Beech Bend as he is Windy Hollow. He really is about halfway in between. Anyway, he sprays that Mustang a ton, in order to be able to run 4.60 -4.70's with it, and Beech Bend is wider and smoother, so it's more logical for him to go there. I have witnessed Sam spinning his car completely around 360* loop de loop (and piss in your pants) at Beech Bend while racing at the NMRA event with a prepped track.

I guess my point is, if you believe in something don't back down just because he is a bigger name guy. People are people we all put our pants on the same way.

I understand Charlie, he might have mention that instead of just knocking it.
Anyway, it's a negative subject and as someone posted on YB it doesn't help these tracks any. Just because someone from out of town might think it's not up to par when that track is all the local racers have.

Jones,
I'm confused by your point and the bigger name guy. I don't understand, but that's okay. I also can not get on the Yellow Bullet site to even see what he or Gerry said, so I should just let it go.
I do know Sam has a small block Mustang with a nitrous, and I do know I've seen him spin it 360* at about 250 ft. out at Beech Bend at either the NMRA Finals or the NMCA event on a Sunday. My point being that he needs a bigger wider track.

I saw that @ the Finals. Wow...he was all over the place and from what I saw, he never scrapped the paint.

Um, nobody "needs" to get out of the groove at 250ft. out...
Sure it might look cool and may not have damaged anything, but nobody wants that lined up next to 'em.

We get pleanty of Pro-Mods guys knock our local track because it is to bumpy for them but they are trying to run high 3's. Where the southern door slammers had no problems running mid 4.50's. If slower class racer was to listen to what the Pro-mod guys say on the pro-mod forums it would hurt the track. Yet when you go to the Southern Door Slammers the track is fine.
Anyway, I find the internet hard to get a point across. No harm no foul.

Re: windy hollow is famous ......
And not only did someone bitch about the track conditions, they also whinned about getting their money back and then talked trash bout quite a few people there (who by the way offered to HELP THEM). People came and had problems from all over. We had chassis issues of our own doing, car wanted to go every which way but straight. Didn't switch lanes, didn't blame it on anyone else, and hell, came in 3rd in pro. He can take his whoa is me crap somewhere else. I just crushed the soapbox, I'm done............. Team Sherry along with damn near everyone thats attends the bash realize that Windy is not a National event track and don't care, it's a brotherhood and a family gathering. If you didn't like the track stay the hell home and we'll still have a great time without ya
