Light rust in lifter bores
There is a really light amount of rust in the lifter bores on my block. Was sugested to try some Scotchbrite or a small ball hone.
Im sorry the pictures are not the best, but the rust is really light for the most part.
What do you guys think?

scotch brite and brake cleaner if it don't get rid of it, try brake hone but very lightly with the brake hone you don't want to enlarge the holes just enough to get rid of the rust.
I have did it before on a small block truned out good but get you a old lifter and use it so you can keep check to make sure you don't get to big of hole and have a sloppy lifter hole.

I used a brake cylinder hone on my rusted lifter bores, but I was worried about enlarging them so I wrapped the hone with #1400 wet sand paper soaked with kerosene - worked very well.

What about one of those plastic bristle wheels that you can use on a dremel tool?
My thinking being that the bristles being plastic it wont remove metal but just might clean up the rust.

Might try a 1 inch diameter wire brush about 2-3 inches long chucked in a 1/4 inch drill. I've used a brush made to clean out CUMMINS injector bores. (used that one by hand).
