all i know is im keeping my mind open and trying to weigh in all my options before dropping anymore money only things set in stone are piston size crankshaft rods and block.
someone locally sugested i hold out run my current block with scj's which should still get me over my 700 hp mark and then when im ready to make bigger amounts of power just go all in get the 18 bolt heads and an 18 bolt block and be done with it
Better order a car to go with them.......
Ive kept cars with more power than that in control.

Pistons better not be set in stone,.................. SCJ old , SCJ new and P51, and A-460 take different pistons valve placemennt wise. And the A-s have quite a bit larger combustion chamber too.
Ive noticed that too lol
i cant find an A-460 piston that isnt domed anywhere.
10 bolts have 91cc's right?

Flat top A460 pistons are in the Diamond catalog...that's where you find them.Maddmattmustangs wrote:TravisRice wrote:dfree383 wrote:Maddmattmustangs wrote:yea ive noticed that too sadly.

Re: A 460 heads by trickflow
My pistons had big domes .The 557 a head motor will make more power than you realize trust me.
Another thing is the dizy and the intake if you run the 2x4 intake you need to do some diz work
or weld on the 700.00 dollar manifold like i did .I was told diamond keeps pistons in stock for
the a heads .Also does your car have bbf or bbc headers the a heads are bbc.
Also Trick flow says the springs are good to a 800 lift roller better check them even
with a small roller .I tell you the A heads are pretty impresive out of the box .I was told
by a very exp head guy it wouldnt take much to make them flow a lot.

Strange, I've got guys out there with .870" lift running the blue stripe springs that come with the TFS A460 package.

Re: A 460 heads by trickflow
I have enjoyed reading all of the comments since I will be picking up my new 598 next week (at least Roger said I should be ready) It has 18 bolt heads and block with the Diamond (domed) pistons with a 850 + roller and T&D rockers…all the stuff ya’ll are talking about. Oh yea built for the juice! I plan to hold off installing until after the Bash….if I can wait that long.

I don't know what it represents......but I can tell you that ALL of the TFS A460 head packages are for roller cams.

Re: A 460 heads by trickflow
3/4 before my time i remember guys talking about them.I ask a Old super stock racer what that
was he smiled and said a 1/4 less than full race.LOL
I m not sure about the spring deal with my heads i bought them a pretty long time ago
but i read the stuff after i got them said good to a 850 lift roller. mine were almost
coil bound at 821 .I run a hat with alky i know how fast they rev so i keep up on
springs the guy who put the motor together never checked them. With my luck i
am the only guy that the heads had the wrong springs on .Yep thats my luck. LOL
