Maybe that is what I heard people did was to change the tie-bar. I know they are taller too but that is why some guys like them.

yea i test fitted a set in the block. the bores look perfect and they slide up and down very well. but the tie bars are to long so im going to see if i can order a set of bars from comp cams to correct it!
Just to make sure i got this absolutely straight. Im running a line from the oil port near the fuel pump over to the Port behind the intake manafold which will allow me to run the solid lifters. can i use a T junction there so i can still hook up my oil pressure gauge?

I may stir things up with this comment but...... I will go ahead anyway.
I (me) have had better luck with a good stud girdle than any 4 bolt conversions on Small Blocks. Now on big blocks it may be a different but on sbf this is my history.

sounds good. Ill check em out.
I heard that the solid rollers for a 460 have the oil port in a diffrent spot on the lifter to the 351?
I just want to make sure i do not trap oil on the top of the engine or starve lifters.

You wont starve the liftes for oil if the oil hole is wrong, it will flood the top of the engine and could pump the pan dry.

Thats what im affraid of. Im going to compare the blocks side by side when i get my block back from the machine shop. the only diffences i have found between the 2 lifters are the 460 lifters are a hair taller and allow you to use a pushrod thats larger than 5/16. both have the same lifter bore size but different spacing. I can get the new link bars for them however. I did discover though that you can use 460 flat tappet lifters in a 351c but i want to make sure.
