Not sure where I should post this ??? about my 76 F-100 charging system......
I'm wondering/wanting to put a toggle switch in series for my alternator/regulator. I want to run on the drag strip with the alternator not charging or being energized. First is this possible with the ford charging system? Sorry to swear on a ford forum but I know it can be done with a GM alternator. (I did this on my antique tractor with the GM unit) Anybody know which wire I would have to splice the switch into? What ya think guys....

Wouldn't you just put the switch on the I terminal?
Well after searching depending on who you believe the I terminal is from the ignition or for the indicator light (gotta love the internet). So that leaves the Stator (S) or the Field (F). Maybe someone will have some more concrete information.
