Built a header today.
A little soggy around the farm, so I've been doing a little work on the mud truck, and today was header day.

Yep straight up. Kinda fun to do, and it gives me a great appreciation for the guys who do this for a living. A big shout out to Tim Murphy from The Fab Shop for answering all of my stupid questions on how to do this. I bought all of the stuff to do this from him at the 09 Tech Seminar, and am finally getting around to putting it together.

Thanks guys. I've alway wanted to do this, and now I'm gonna scratch it off of the bucket list. I got the cage done yesterday and decided to get tackling on this.

Wanna build me a pair? It'll be real fun and I'll let you do it for free. I will get the tubing for you though. ITS A TRAP!!!schmitty wrote:Thanks guys. Nothing a little high temp silicone won't fix.

Re: Built a header today.
Looks good Rob. Did you use a kit for your roll cage or have one bent for your truck?

Looks nice...I have threatened to put a set of uprights on my race car for a long time...sure would make trans and starter swaps easier.

I've got a fellow mud racer here that wants me to make him a set of zoomies for his truck next. Should be easy compared to this.

Rob, we aren't going to make it out your way. My wife decided we should take care of some medical bills instead.
And trip to the bbf bash wasn't going to happen due to the Nebraska trip.
It all worked out and we are Bash bound thursday afternoon .

Re: Built a header today.
Sorry to hear that Mike, but you gotta do what is right for the family. Hope you enjoy The Bash, and wish I could come to it and meet you and the rest of the gang, but I can't swing it. Had a close family friend pass away a week ago and his funeral is this weekend and that is a priority to me. Gotta make the hard choices once in a while.f250mike wrote:Rob, we aren't going to make it out your way. My wife decided we should take care of some medical bills instead.

Yep and a lot more to go yet. Still have the other header, driveshaft loops, and U-joint scatter shields to go yet.BRONCOBILLY7.5 wrote:Looking good there Schmitty. Sounds like you've been burning some wire.
