Need help engine quit firing
My car has been running great for a month now no problems
I just started it it cranked fine then died 30 seconds later I checked it's not firing
coil? Ignition? I'm new so I need help
It's a msd 6al

Check grounds cheack the leads off the dis to box was the coil hot or super hot? and check the 12+ going to the box.

All wiring looks good nothing is loose coil was not hot it only ran 30 seconds.
Not sure about the 12v can't find my dern meter its not firing coming out of the coil not sure about going in the coil

A test light will tell you if you are getting 12v to the coil all the box does is picks up a single from the dis and then ground the coil for a split sec. In a way the coil is only a Capacitor.

I have heard (and had experience) that the msd boxes take a crap about 2 years down the road after being installed. But it could be the crimps (msd said that was part of our problem, bs maybe) or the dizzy gear/pin are messed up like what happened to me with the maverick not too long ago.

Well I figured out what it was lol
I checked the dist. And it wasn't turning so I pulled it out and found out the cam was not turning so it or the timing chain broke

That's not good! Sorry to hear. Hope it didn't bend any valves.
