Vacuum at idle
Without a crazy cam, is 17 inches of vacuum at idle acceptable or do i have a vacuum leak to hunt down?

17 sounds good to me. I've seen stock motors with less.

After I got the carb tuned I maxed out at 19 inches of vacuum.
Seems to like initial timing at 20 degrees btdc.

Hell, I don't think I've built a single motor in the last ten years that pulled anything near that. Yea, 17" inches is great
