Yep, didn't catch that. Been a looong day at work, and I went in late to boot!
Curious to see how much that flat black ride picks up with it... Might finally dip into the 8s...

We're set up for 1/8th mile currently, Went a 5.60 3 weeks ago, got the same tuneup in it it had then, the air will be an exception, along with a pretty gooey track. I have enough data with different conditions so any improvement will be no problem to catch.
As noted the manifold was just under 4#'s lighter, although I prolly cut .5 #'s worth of extra material from mine. Those front and rear runners plus the added runner height should help considerably I'd think. I'm not a baller like KY with all his 8 egts and such, and i run the same nozzel in all 8 runners so i'm sure just evening out everything will be a help.
My Street heads already had a CJ match on them, it could use just a touch here and there, but the fit is much better than my CJ matched victor. I did no cleanup at all to the plenum or runners, there is still some flash but nothing major, time constraints and having to cut them stupid bungs off did not allow me to mess with it. I did just barely blend the top of the point there in the center as my open spacer left an edge showing. I'll clean everything up a smidge this winter when I freshen it up and go bigger bore.
We need to tank all those involved for this deal, we already have some dyno numbers and such but this will be a good test for the end result.
It'll be a hero or a zero...............we'll soon see, and I cant wait to turn the button loose on my glide soon enough............

Re: TFS PRE-Production, aka Mafia manifold
Run green oil and ngk plugs.......alky and injection...... And you'll out run a 830 cfm anus carb.
Re: TFS PRE-Production, aka Mafia manifold
Here's a little something for those of us that need a vacuum port. The front hole for the throttle bracket goes into the #8 runner. I just got mine back from the machine shop and heres the pics of what I had them do. I removed the rear boss and smoothed it down to the runner. On this manifold, the bolt hole was way off center to the casting boss, so I had to take it to a local machine shop and have them put it in a mill to recenter the hole. They drilled it to a 7/16" hole and then tapped it 1/4NPT. I now have a place to put my hose for the vac brake booster. the modulator for the tranny, and a place for the techs to check my idle vac for the class I will race in now.
The boss seems to be low enough to put a 1/4 NPT tee in for what I need and still be out of the way of the carb and linkage.

Be safe So basically what you're saying is the track prep was shit and traction was an issue not necessarily cause of more ponies made. I'm watching this one

Hehe... yeah you drilled him pretty good The vid looks decent on my camera... I'll get 'em posted up when I get home next weekend.
Nice to meet you, Jon, and your machine is pretty badass.. I appreciate the level of detail you have in your car
Re: TFS PRE-Production, aka Mafia manifold
Man this 2:30 in the mornin gettin home sux, got me another runner up, car ran the .75, then for .74's in a row. Went back with the leaner tune and picked the mph up. 60' is where it was off, looking at the video the tirespin was not real bad, its just when the car gets down a few hp it does this. I blame the crappy air, it was terrible, my junk follows the barometer more than anything and it was 29.71, when it went to 60's it was 30.25, that and it was cool out and the track was real tight.
I'll take it to Lawton in a couple weeks and see what it does there, the track seems to work a lot better there.
Not sure what to make about the manifold, considering I had an extremely worked over Victor its not like I had a bad piece to begin with, but I have over twice the money in it. This thing might work better with a bigger motor, my deal is just a 529 with 12.8-1 comp, and honestly it runs better than it should.
I'll keep testing, I'm gonna work on a custom spacer like the SS or the powercone, have to mod one as I need a 1.5" tall deal with 2.5" bores.
It was nice to meet another forum member, I need to start handin out t shirts saying "I met the A+ know-it-all racer" ...............

Re: TFS PRE-Production, aka Mafia manifold
Good job on whipping some azz there last night. My junk won't be ready for at least another two weeks or so. Glad to hear that the new manifold unported is at least as good as a very well worked over Victor. We need a report from the Kay Why now. In the immortal words of Judge Smails " well we're waiting"

Re: TFS PRE-Production, aka Mafia manifold
The long and short of it.............its like your buying a full on ported victor and some for half the money. I'm sure a motor that wants more air than my deal will see bigger improvements............and I'm still not sure the car may not have run as good as it did last night with my victor, the air was as sorry as I have seen in a long while. One thing I noticed is my little gas primer plus I had to lean it out a good bit from where I had it, now be that an indicator of the sorry air or just the manifold distribution is that much better who knows. I'm gonna go pop the plugs out and see, the victor would really foul the center 4 plugs when I put it up for the night with the primer plus.
