Little to no oil pressure
So I took my car up to Lyons Raceway last night in the scorching heat. Made it three rounds but then the car ran extremely flat in the middle of the track on the last pass and ran .35 slow. After getting the car home and backing it off the trailer i noticed the oil pressure at idle was only 10lbs and sometimes goes to 0. Crack the throttle and it might go to 40 but then back to 10. Normally it runs at 50 hot at idle. Yes it's got oil in it and no it doesn't knock or tic. I got plans to pull the motor tomorrow and pull the pan. I don't have a clue as to what could be wrong, motor has been running great all year. And of course the weather man says it going to be 95 or hotter all week.

First thing I would check is for cracks in oil Pump, then the PU tube . If not that start lookin at bearings. Good Luck)

If crank and rod bearings look good, look at cam bearings next....

I had that happen once as well. Bent a pushrod and the lifter popped out. Barely had any oil pressure at all.

Re: Little to no oil pressure
As soon as i get off work here at 6:30 im gonna pull the valve covers first and check the push rods. Seems weird it never made a noise or missed, just ran slow. Oh and im gonna order a low oil pressure warning light....

Well....guess i got lucky, if you call it that. Pushrod on #7 intake was bent and the lifter out of the hole. Cross bar for the lifter was close to falling into the lifter hole.....whew. Guess i dodged a bullet. Time to upgrade to 3/8 stuff i guess.

Check the Cam and Replace that lifter, sometimes they bounce around and will fail later.

I would also check your pushrod length. Mine was two short yet lasted several years of street driving before failing but there has to be something wrong somewhere because they don't bend for no reason.

when i had that problem it was caused by a valve seal getn hung in the inner spring.i'd check it out good cuz you'll find a problem or it'll find you later.
