Will depend on the intake manifold and other things but, generally a 1050 4500 is the ticket. Will need to be with a primary p.v. for the street driving.

IMO you don't "need" a 1050 dominator, but like Lem has said they are the ticket and generaly make more power than the 4150 stuff.
Are you unhappy with your 1000 4150? Is it not working?

Re: Carb Size for 504 cubic inch?
it's a 4150 victor manifold but planning to work it to a 4500 set-up. Filling the holes and make new ones for the 4500. Also cleaning the inner portion of the manifold to match. Would this help me or would it not?

No, it's working fine but many people telling me the dominator will help alot at WOT. Some say I could pick up 2 tenths if not more. I want the most out the motor ya know what i mean

if you want max power a 1150 or larger, depending on your engine specs will be better,
i have a drive anywhere 508 10.5 72 torino, 1150 dom, ive tested 6 different manifolds, and countless carbs, its a street car 4200lbs, ive even had a factory low 2x4 intake on this car.
dom works best

Better fuel distribution and fuel atomozation over typical 4150 stuff...........WOT you will definetly have a nice improvement, But if its a true street car and your looking for some semblence of fuel economy, great part throttle response, Etc. ..... the 4150 stuff is the ticket.
Mostly Track Car = Dominator IMO
Driver (Real one) = 4150 IMO
They both have merit in the correct application.

Has alot to do w/engine combo,Heads and Flow,Cam,intake, etc. If you have to buy a new Dommy I would go w/1150. JMO

I'd say that the amount of improvement you'll see all depends upon how well the engine runs right now. I don't think you'll see 2 1/10's improvement even in the 1/4 mile and certainly not in the 1/8th mile, I'd say more like 2 1/000's ET would be realistic if the engine makes say 700 horsepower right now.

Re: Carb Size for 504 cubic inch?
My 502 made 719HP with a BG 850 Demon. Changing to a QF 1150 dominator netted 740HP. 21HP over the BG but torque was up closer to 30. Torque curve was more broad with the dominator and Egt's were better. The 850 seamed to lean out some of the outer cylinders.
I have an adaptor fot the intake if you would like to try it out. That way u don't have to cut the intake up if you decide not to go that way. Just borrow a dommy and try it ...the only way you will know. Just pay shipping and send it back when you are done with it.

Very nice of you. I bought one and I have a 1050 dom I'm borrowing from a friend. I would hope to see a tenth atleast. If not, it wont be worth it for me. Not to go through all the trouble anyways.

Re: Carb Size for 504 cubic inch?
opening up the carb pad to a 4500 will help even more but this will give you an idea. The adaptors really look like it chokes way down then that air/fuel mix has to make one hell of a turn into the runners.

yeah i looked and felt the same way. If i pick up sometime I think I will swap either way. Big motors need more gas. I should have done that to begin with

IF your present carb is working up to potential then 2 tenths is a "pipe dream" ... manifold mods will help more. Your present manifold can be modified to accept BOTH type carbs.
Re: Carb Size for 504 cubic inch?
Open the manifold to 4500 base, radius ( as big a radius as you can ) the runners entries, then match the plenum to a 1 inch four hole to open super sucker. then add the 1050 4500 dommie.
All this needs to be done to maximise the change. Then if your 4150 tune realy sucked, you might see the 2 tenths your talking about.

It's really hard to say how bad the carb did, but keep in mind im going off of what most big block users run. And in this case it's a dommy!!

right on Blake...remember the Nova that made me a HeRo a month ago by gaining 8 tenths and 10 mph going from gas to alky, well he's getting a built gas carb for it...I venture a guess he will see double the 2 tenths gain lol.
