Got a new tool in the garage :D
I bought this Cluasing drill press through an online auction. When I bought it, I knew it was 1.5 horsepower, but wasn't sure if it was single phase or three phase or, whether or not, it even worked. It was priced right, looked good, and I rolled the dice. I took a three hour detour to pick it up while out of town for work. Drove around with it in the back of my truck for four days until I got back home.
Tonight I got it wired up and running to verify it actually worked ...it does! To get it operational, I bought a used 3MT to 3JT adapter and a 14N Super Chuck off Ebay and a deadman's switch from McMasterCarr.com.
Woohoo, I finally have a good drill press!!! Now that I know it works, I'll use a little elbow grease to clean the surface rust off it.
Have a good day!
Michael

Cool deal there Michael. I don't have any trouble bidding on online auctions as long as stuff is cheap enough to make it worth the gamble.

I have a small bench top drill press, but I bet I could really hurt myself with that one.

Very cool piece there Michael. To clean the rust off, I'd get me a 180 grit flapper disc and just buff it off.

We have one just like that at work in the shop. It works great.
The only thing I don't like is it has no reverse.
