Like the title says, what are you stock suspension guys 60'ing on a 28x10.5? We've been dealing with wheel spin issues all season and we are finally getting close. Looking for higher powered (775+), automatic car info. Thanks

Last season with our nitrous sbf with a glide and 3.89 gears we went 1.20-1.21 on good tracks and 1.25-1.26 on mediocre tracks.
28x10.5s tires at 3350lbs. Wolfe rear suspension, single ARB, QA1 shocks, 125lb springs

front spring length and weight rating is very important as well as front strut. I have never had too little traction but I have had wheelie problems in the past because we didn't make enough power for our setup.

On our current setup we are running the 29.5x10.5 tires and are in the low 1.20's again with our turbo setup but we are not even close to how it was setup as a nitrous car. our front end is limited to 1 inch travel now and a full tight setting on the strut. The rear setup is different too. We had to lower the front and raise the rear to get the IC where we wanted it with our new power. It used to be under our butts and now it's out at our feet. Too be honest after adjusting for IC and setting our ARB to 1/2 turn preload on the right and getting the weight right side to side I didn't even check the pinion angle. I probably won't either.

Front:
Strange 10 ways
UPR Coil Over
14" 175 spring
Rear:
Strange 10 ways
Double adj lowers
Team Z DBl adj Uppers (relocated)
GT spring with 2 1/2 coils out out of each side
uPR ARB

3055S Tire, 4.10 gear
58% over the nose (iron head)
Car weighs 2960 race ready

IC is right at 38.5" and AS is 141%. IC height is 10.2 inches
Been working with Team Z for a few months and the best 60 ft to date is a 1.401. Still spins 1 revolution before the car even moves, which is down from 2 1/2 or so. Front has been on full loose and rear is 3 clicks from full loose. We're think the converter is still too tight

I didn't think Dave would let anyone run 14"springs. I don't know anything about his relocated stuff.

If you have Dave Z working with you then there is nothing we can say here that is better. He could get bicycle with a small block to hook I think. lol!

Lol, you are correct with the bike! It seems that he like the 14" springs for BB cars. The 12" is for most SB cars.

Best so far with my junk is 1.33-60' with the 28" tires. We haven't been to the track since the Bash, too damn hot here! Sixty had dropped off a little, but I'm still playing around with IC. Once I get it nailed down, I'm confident it will 60' in the 1.20's.

Same thing here Nick! I've had some personal issues going on which have prevented me from doing anything and it's been to dang hot anyway. But now all is good with the personal issues, just don't have the funds to do much right now Sad .

I had a 1.37 60ft on a 275 M.T. Radial mounted on an 8'' wheel. The next pass it blew the tires off. That was with 90/10 Lakewood struts, stock front springs, Strange economy adjustable rear shocks and stock rear springs. I have never bettered that mark after going to QA1 adjustable front coilover conversion, Varishock rear coilover kit, adjustalbe lower control arms and an Anti Roll. I'm sure it's my chassis tuning skills, but something to be said for the K.I.S.S. system (keep it simple, stupid).

Took another 1/2 coil out of the rear springs (2.5 total), which raised the A/S value a ton as well as lowered the IC. Carries the front end about 10 inches. But the single most important factor was the new Ultimate converter. It's 2400rpm tighter!!!

The last 5.90 pass I lifted @ the 900 foot mark and still went 9.31. That pass would have been 9.teens for sure. This thing will go 8.80's without much effort. Dave and Lenny have been GREAT!!!

Best for my friends car (I've been tuning the suspension on it) is a 1.42 on a 275/60 MT Radial.

It's got Strange adj struts up front with coil overs (don't know the spring rate), QA1s out back, some red looking factory style springs,Adj uppers and lift bar lowers. I have NO idea where the IC is at. I haven't plotted it. It works good enough though. Car is powered by a 383 SBC, 1.82 glide and 4.10s out back...

I picked up .3 just by tuning the suspension alone. We just stuck the 383 in it and are still tuning it. It's getting faster in the 60' every pass. I'd like to try some solid lowers and ditch the lift bars, but it hooks too damn good.

get rid of the lift bars. they are hurting you more than helping. you will be able to keep it hooked up without the lift bars. Unless that turd chebby motor has NO power!! The local True Street class here which is a 275 class has guys in the 1.20's but I see no reason that mid 1.30's aren't possible with any decent power car.

they work great on low torque applications. Anytime you start adding power they hit so hard that you can't keep it hooked up.

This bowtie turd hasn't spun yet. I would know since I'm usually kneeling down behind it!

I've tried to talk him into ditching them... He's got a Chevy in a Ford. You tell me if he'll listen to reason!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to mention they DESTROY the car, and are unpredictable at best.
