Need help with measurements/ Kaase
I need some measurements of older Fords, between the shock towers. This would be at valve cover height. Is the early Mustang the same as a 66-67 Fairlane? Are 65-66 Mustangs the same as 67-68 cars? How about the 64 Fairlane? How about the Fox body cars? Thanks, Kaase

fairlane's have more room than a mustang and 65-66 mustangs are smaller than 67-68.the 67-70 mustangs are the same on the towers but 67-68 have a little less room in the firewall/floor pan area for the trans.

Older Fords!
Now guys...Jon said "older Fords"
I bet he meant 1958 Fords!
No tape measure needed. Just install the engine. I bet a set of those nice Hemi Boss 9 heads would fill up the area nicely!

1968 Mustang (C code) without engine, or shock tower support is 27 7/8" at top of shock tower and 25 1/2" near the head location of the shock tower. 1967 Mustang shares the same dimensions.
1965 Mustang (A code) with 289 engine and shock tower support in place is 27 1/2" at top of shock tower and approximately 25 to 25 1/2" in the head area. 1966 Mustang shares the same dimensions.

In a 64 Falcon at the top of the valve cover (SBF) the shock towers are 26" wide and at the base of the valve cover it is about 21" wide.
