Lightweight flywheel vs standard weight?
What are the pros and cons between the two???

depends on what your doing with it, Street Car? Drag car? Road Race?

Street strip, I hear it's easier on the crank and helps the motor rev faster

Depends on the weight of the said car too. A Heavy flywheel will work better in a heavy car if you want to rpm it to leave. It will shock the tires and not bog down the engine, the theory of momentum . A light flywheel can have the opposite effect in a heavy vehicle, yet really make a lighter car react better. A heavy flywheel will also sound sluggish and drawn out, light will sound crisp, clean and fast.

so with a 3400 lb car i probably should be looking into a heavy flywheel?

not necessarily, I wouldn't look for a monster heavy on, Just stick with the mid weight billet race stuff and stay away from the real light aluminum stuff. For a Cleveland stick in the 25# range.

Daves right.
I used the extreme to make my point. Heavy car, little engine .............ex. Full size car with a small block ............heavy flywheel. You get the jist now.

Yup! And for a big block I could get away with a lighter flywheel
