Differences between P.I. block and SCJ block

I found a guy who says he has a 4-bolt main P.I. block for sale. Says its the same as a 4-bolt SCJ block. How do you tell the difference and are there any differences in the two? Wants $750 for it. Would this be a good deal considering production SCJ blocks are getting $1200 or so? Its a standard bore block. Thanks...

Never heard of a P.I. block

Yes they made some PI 4 bolt blocks and it's the same block as the scj motors.

Yes, I had a 429 4 bolt block that came from a 1972 Ky. state police car. Back in the day i saw several other '72 p.i. engines...all the others 2 bolt. I'd guess Ford used the few SCJ blocks that were left over from the '71 model year and when they were gone they were gone.

like these guys are sayin, there is no diff, they are one in the same, have owned 71,and 72 police cars ,everyone had a 4 bolt w/pi heads, they have been both dove,and d1ve 4 bolt blocks
