jones 2000 hp post
this can be a reliable combo
a heads or better 572ci 4.500x 4.500 a block 2 88turbos, or larger, the problem is fuel, and spark, and if its an alc engine then the heads better flow well.
when you get the tune right it will live

Re: jones 2000 hp post
I am mainly wondering about the 1,600 - 2,000 hp area. I see pleanty of c-headed, aluminum block, EFI, twin turbo rides. What about the pro-mod stuff of the early 90's?

What if the rules say you can only use one power adder, no turbos, no EFI and no alky or e85!

Re: jones 2000 hp post
you are going to be hard pressed to build a 2000hp a-headed single kit nos engine ....or its going to be damn exotic ....maybe Lem, Randy or Charlie might chime in on this one

Re: jones 2000 hp post
Is race gas the limiting factor with a roots blown engine? If so what is the limit with race gas and blower?

Re: jones 2000 hp post
I would think that the heat produced by the gas and the supercharger would make the tuning window impossible to keep up with at 2000hp. But, I'm not a blower or gas guy.

I doubt the bulk of the members cars here would handle 2000hp let alone your truck Josh.............

Why would you allow one power adder but turbos are not one of them?
Well anyway, if those were the rules I would build a BBF with an F3 procharger blow thru setup on Q16.

From what I can tell there isn't a single turbo large enough to support 2,000hp.

Re: jones 2000 hp post
One day, after I get the truck running and sorted out my goal is to have a root style blown engine. It might not make 2000hp but if it made over 1200hp and sounded nasty I'd be happy!

Re: jones 2000 hp post
You're almost right about a single turbo but it seems to me that most "single power adder" classes allow twins as a single power adder. A large single would be fine on a medium size BBF.
it doesn't really matter though. the F3 bbf on Q would make killer power.
Hell, if you had a bigger motor then the new F4 would be awesome. have you seen the power results over on YB.
And your little 1200 hp goal would be EASY now days.

Re: jones 2000 hp post
I think I may be shooting for the HORSEPOWER stars!!!
A low to mid 500 inch BBF with a Precision 118 turbo would be a pretty good combo.

Re: jones 2000 hp post
I'm just going by the rules I am looking at running now days with the local 275 class.
No, I haven't seen anything on the new f4, I was wondering if there was anyone running one yet. I think I would be happy with a used littlefield, BDS 10/71 old 2 lobe rotor that surged at you. The first pro-mod race I worked I was on the top end of the track working the safety cart and the sound of those pro-mods cranking-up and surging like wild broncos ready to run!

Re: jones 2000 hp post
If I was to run a 275 class I don't think that I would run a roots blown combo. That instant torque would be very hard to handle.........but not impossible.

You would have to spend all the money you saved buying the old school stuff to buy traction control!
