Drop the clamps and go with AN fittings and proper tube. The good stuff is a lot cheaper than a new bottom end.
Use hose clamps on your gas lines, and you can lose the whole thing.

I am going to have 2 hydro lines built to put on it.I found a mark on the hose I think I might have ran over something and pulled it of.

Ok I have decided to pull the engine and freshen it up with a new set of flat top pistons ditching to low compression dish pistons,rod,mains and cam bearings ,and new cam solid lift to Lems specs. with some new intake valves.I need a few more ponies under the hood I am going to start getting parts this week and some newer rubber for the back Jon I will be getting with you. Laughing

If this don't put it in the 6's I will add some of Nick's sissy juice to it. Laughing lol!

Yes the sissy juice will get it there but not with balls of real hp you can feel when the bottle runs dry affraid monkey No Laughing

OK I got a few parts new oil and temp gauges 2 5/8, set of new pistons from Mark aka Bigshank,a set of 31x10.5x15Ws from Jon,new solid lift cam ,lifters,and new ss intake valves from Randy M at R.M.Compition,getting a Mallery Unilite dizzy from Jerry.Now I need to order new rod and main bearings,gaskit kit,and new coil.then save some more to put it on the alky drunken

Got the rest of my parts today all but 3/8 push rods get them after I put the engine back together to get the right ones so it time to pull the engine and get to work on it. Laughing cheers

Got the short block built all but putting the oil pump/pick up,pan,and timing cover on.I got to trim the intake vales about .030 to get the rocker arm right can't go any shorter on the pushrods.So just maybe next Tuesday I can get it back in and fired off and broke in,be on vaction that day.Hope to have it at the track on 3-5-11 for some tnt.

The engine is back together and in the truck and broke the cam in today.Now to pull the valve covers and rocker arms and put the intersprings back in and put the front end back on.Then some tnt to see how it runs hoping for some 6s in the 1/8.

She back together ready for tnt maybe next friday night.I finished it up today I brought it over to my Dad's house for the weekend where I could get some work done on it.While I helped out with my granny my Dad helped me put my inner springs back in the heads.Nothing like the old man out helping on the truck this is the 1st time he has helped me on it.I have heard alot of old racing story from him and my uncle today.I love to hear some of the stories they tell from back in there younger years racing.Daddy said he wants to drive it down the track a couple times to see how it handles and runs when I get it running good. Very Happy

Thanks for posting about my block question .I thought the d9 blocks would look like a sbf .But upon further examination I can see the difference now .And most especially after trying to install an early crankshaft and seeing where the counterweights hit .You been able to race any ?I went to reynolds last weekend .Lost first round boughtback won second round and brokeout third round.I brokeout by 0006 .I should have tapped the brakes Sad Doug

Doug I only done some tnt a few times was having fuel problems with it wanting to lean out on top end.I hope with the fuel cell moved to the front and the alky carb I hope it will help.The screen in my pump was clasped and was hurting it on top end didn't know the pump had a screen in it.The pump would pump a gallon of gas in 45 sec never would had thought the pump but also had to pump the gas 17 1/2' through the line.
