T-Bird & Mustang c4 questions.
Getting ready to change from a c6 to a c4 in my 88 t-bird. I currently run a AJE front crossmeber so the motor
is still in the stock location. This is a 408 windsor motor. From what I have measured on the trannys is the c6 22-1/2 inches from the bellhousing to the tranny mount and 33-1/2 to the tailshaft. C4 is 17-1/2 to the mount and 30-1/2 to the tailshaft. Driveshaft is 45-1/2 long right now with the c6. I'm not fimilar with the fox body stuff but what is puzzling me is the car has the stock tranny crossmeber in the stock location with the c6 meaning when I switch trannys I will be 4 inches short of hitting the stock tranny crossmeber is this right or coman with this chassis? what do you do for a crossmember? Just trying to get everything together before
we tear it apart. Any help is apprecaited. Heres another thing if I remeber 45 1/2 length driveshaft is the same
for the fox body mustang right? That would mean I need to lenghten my current driveshaft by 4 inches?

Re: T-Bird & Mustang c4 questions.
should be able to use the Ford Racing double hump cross member, it slides to where you need it and thn tack weld it their.
Might be able to grind the welds off on your existing one and reuse it.

Or....you might try a 83-88 T-Bird/ Cougar 5.0 driveshaft. Those were about 4 inches longer than a Mustang.
If I am not mistaken, the C-4 uses the same yoke as an AOD.
