2011 BBF Bash Quickest Door Car

A little red Maverick stopped by the house last night and it looked HUNGRY!

Whoever plans on taking the quickest door car award this year better pack a lunch and bring ALL your buddies to help pull you down the track quicker

I think that things are going to get really interesting. I think that the track may well be limiting factor this year, Hope diesel fuel stays under 10 bucks a gallon.

I am gonna have to get something stronger than M-5

I am doing fine, I had my last chemo treatment about 4 weeks ago now and I am now in the testing, scaning, probing mode. I go next Monday and have the "port" removed from my chest where the gave me the chemo I will be glad when that is over. Now am just biding my time waiting for the chems stuff to work it way out of my blood system as I am still having numbness in my fingers, toes and mouth. I am so thankful that so for everythings is looking real good, God has blessed me so much. Right now we are working on making a few changes to the car trying to be ready for the first week in April for the first big heads up race at the I-22 track that is close to my house. We are looking forward to a big year if the price of Oil, gas and living just don't go hog wild, right now things are not looking real good for the US.

How fast was the car that got the award last year? Sounds like some very quick stuff!

Gary, I think Tim went a 5.18, I could be wrong, but not much.

We're hoping for low to mid 4s from the blue car and low 5s from the SS car.

that would probably be a record for that track ...low 4's

It should have the oats. But its a new car and we will have to see how close the setup is in early testing.

i guess i'll need to put the plate back on!

My 1st guess is a mustang from central Indiana if it's done in time(not Tim). Second guess is a mustang from Northern Illinois if it's done in time.
Come on guys lets get the lead out .

I don't mean to start a ruckus,,,,but I'm betting on some Mustangs south of the Mason-Dixon line as being the quickest door car. I've got a couple in mine that could possibly do the job.

How fast was Tim's Shelby? I thought it was in the 5.30's SBF Stick car

Got a pretty fast Mustang committed to come down with us, working on a couple of other guy's trying to get them to come and play. Is this track usually pretty good?

this track is very good Gary , the staff at Windy do a phenominal job every year of laying down the special sauce .......

Thanks, really sounds like a good time. Hope to see everyone there. I will get as many as I can from up this way to go to help make it a success. I thought I had read earlier that it might be all Fords all of both day's but I guess the Sat. eve. deal will be all brands. Maybe it will get big enough to be all a Ford weekend in the future.

I'm pretty sure Tim was in the 5.30's and won the award last year. Bobby Small won it one year running 4.90's and then again another year he won the quickest Open Wheel car (Dragster). Derrick and Bobby Anthony won it one year running 5.0's or was it 5 teens?

I figured KY would have won last year however he had some water leaks? I don't remember exactly, but he couldn't get in a full pass.

We won the Door Car low ET award year before last with a 5.12 (on the motor) as I remember but I can assure you that if we get to come to the dance this year that time will drop a bunch if all goes according to plan. We will have a couple of tune-up sessions at I-22 before May in order to nail it down. Based on what I am reading I fully expect to see 4.70 or 4.80 this year if the track can hold that number, that bump in the right lane about mid track can upset a car real fast, so far our car has handled it great but I remember 4 years ago when the guys from Alabama with one of Bob Gliddeon's old cars, that could easily run 4.70"s could not get down either lane, the drivers had better be ready!!

I know that Rich's car(Boss 429) is capable of mid 4 second power and then some, can it get down the track with the car being so fresh theres only one way to find out.
