Tryin to get Harold in the 5's
I'm working on Harold's Cougar right now. Putting a new scoop and hood and building a "forced" air pan under the scoop....[img][/img][img][/img][img][/img]

Sometimes those carbs dont like a sealed scoop................just sayin'.................
A filter over the top or even a "flute" might help, lots of discussion on this on one of the other forums.
I did seal mine and it seemed to help some, but I dont have a booster or air bleed to worry about.

On our old cougar, we started with a sealed up air box and then opened it up a little at a time as we saw increases. That was back in the days of wagon wheels and carburation though!

I hope you do it,,,,, however IMO the quickest way to get him solid in the fives,,,,, is to upgrade the cylinder heads, or let Lawes or myself port the ones he's got.

Can't afford it, besides the ones on the car are ported, when I get the thunder booms on it we will be good to go.

Good luck Harold, I'm trying the same thing..in the 5's. I hope the scoop works well, it does look good. I think we might be a good heads up race at the bash. See you there.

Harold, just campaign for the lane choice rule to be determined by age and not reaction time or et.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOK, I usually try for the right lane anyway, so I should be good at the bash, everyone likes the left there.

Lookin Good Harold/Dan. Harolds a very tough competitor no matter how fast his car is. His age sure doesn't effect him any. Good Luck this year Harold, you have been very close the last 2 yrs. this year my money is on you my friend.

Re: Tryin to get Harold in the 5's
Jon ,I know what your sayin..I put one on my Tbird and it didn't make much difference,I'm leaving the back of the scoop open so it won't be totally forced in the carb. Had to mount the scoop on something ,so I thought it'd be a good chance to see if it helps??richter69 wrote:Sometimes those carbs dont like a sealed scoop................just sayin'.................
