Was shooting my new bow today............
Well, since I don't have the luxury of year round racing here, nor the possibility of doin' much if any this year, I thought I'd keep ringin' out the new bow. For those that haven't seen it, here it is.
A 2011 Mathews Z7 Extreme. 70 lb., 30" draw. And shoots a 415 gr. arrow right at 300 fps.
I've had it only about 3 weeks now, and have put right at 1000 arrows through it as of today. Here are a couple groups I shot last week. There are "6" arrows in each group, and the groups were shot from "60" yds!!! And these are just 2 of the 5 almost identical groups I shot back to back on this day.
Excuse the flyer on this one...
This one I shot about an hour ago, just before dinner. Also from "60" yds. It's "only" 3 arrows today though. I figured this was a good time to call it for the day, and go in and eat.
This is what I do when I'm not working on somebody elses stuff, or when I need to burn off some steam. If not this way, I use my rifle. (One of them) But from much, much farther out.

Cozy Bad thing is I know of people who can't shoot a group like that at that range with a rifle and good scope, and they hunt among us.

It's always nice to be able to shoot like this at these distances, 'cause it hones your skills for all of your shooting. The last bull elk I shot with my bow was less than 5 yds. away. Talk about intense. I'd bet the Banana that the adrenaline rush was higher than any I've ever had at the track.

Looks good Doug. I love my Mathews! Problem for me is I can't aim in the same spot as I've split about a dozen arrows that way And them carbon arrows get pricey after a bunch of practicing and not be able to use them for hunting!

I have the same problem. That's why I do 95% of my shooting @ 40 yds and beyond. The picture below is one of my prized possessions. My 1st, and only double "Robinhood". So far. They haven't been near so frequent now that I do my shooting @ 50 & 60 yds. To date, I've gotten 15 "Robinhoods"kjett wrote: Problem for me is I can't aim in the same spot as I've split about a dozen arrows that way!
