switching D0OE-R head to DOVE-C heads
Ok I know this is stepping back in head choices but since I have already sold the D0OE-R heads and haven't sold the shortblock I am thinking of installing a set of D0VE-C I have and putting the engine in my car(1983 Mustang) so I can go Play. With all else being the same and just switching heads what can I expect the engine to do?
My engine build is in the proven build section under "495 iron head" https://www.429-460.com/t920-495-iron-head-combo
This engine was in my mud truck that has also been sold.

Re: switching D0OE-R head to DOVE-C heads
I changed DOOE with 2.250-1.76 home ported by me to DOVE with 2.19-1.76 ported and milled to 72CC. Car lost two hundreths off the best time with the DOOE heads. 3000# with driver.
Engine .060 over, stock stroke, TRW domes,.676-.688 flat tappet 110 ls on 108 cl, 268-282 @ .050. Portosonic ported to CJ port size, 950HP alcohol carb with 180 jets. BG400 elec pump with throttle bypass set to 10# at wot, 3# at idle.2 in headers with 5 in collectors.
I've been told that I would loose 4 to 5 tenths but it didnt happen that way on mine not to say that it would or would not on someone elses'.
Let me also clarify that the tracks I ran these on were 600 ft. I did run on 660 ft but I didnt have before and after records to compare.
