Then it's going in the car, and hope it don't pull a Nickster wheel stand...............
Nah ... just a Damon wheel stand, lol.
That will be fine , just don want a spindle busting wheel stand.
That would be painful

That thing sounds mild. I was guessing in the 7-800 horse range. Somebody did something right!

Great numbers! Had a few questions, what kind of CR are ya running, about how much cam did ya need to run and what kind of flow numers did your P51's make? The power ya made was right on par with a good A460 setup which is very impressive.

It has 15:1 compression and the intake lobe is in the 280's @ .050 The heads flow around 425-430 @ 28 inches. The heads flow with an out of the box A head, so I couldn't see why an conventional headed deal couldn't make the same or at least close to the same power as an A head.
It was all about getting it to peak at the same RPM as the A headed deal, then the HP came with it.
Thanks for the kind words..............

You did a great job, it's nice to see a conventional head make that kind of power. Hopefully open up the door for BBF guys to be top runners in classes that limmit heads to conventional, thats an area that the BBC had a big advantage for along time. It's nice to see that you didn't need to do anything radical as far as the cam or CR either to make pretty much the same power as the A460's, I honestly never thought i would see a conventional head go toe to toe with a A460!

I think it was a 5.82 at 122 mph, hooked good, when it hit high is when it got fun, did you have your sound on and turned up?

Amazing build there Snake!! There was much planning and 'speriance went into this animal!!
Any guesses what it would have dyno'd with good weather? Or do the correction factors get it pretty good?
Good job!!
Bill

Bill I haven't a clue maybe somebody will chime in and enlighten us on that.
The rings not being seated may have hurt power some. I pulled the heads and had a table spoon full of oil on top each piston.

Wow, 1000+ with one hand tied behind its back!! Well, maybe a couple of fingers anyway
The oil would make it a bit touchy to much timing me thinks...

I would love to dyno it again , but it is too hard on my pocket book, I didn't get to play with the cam timing either.................
But what it is is what it is, the track will tell the tale..................
I put a Holley 350 gph billet pump on it that has no bypass in it , I had to run a bypass line through a bulk head fitting to the tank from the pressure side to keep the amps in check on the pump.

Blake just called he has got a few shake down passes in at the Lawrenceburg dragway this afternoon . He said so far 1.24 60' 5.58 @124 mph.
Blake just sent a text message his fuel pump lost pressure , so that explains the low mph .
