Re: New bullet 1003 hp 810 tq P51
I like the 6 speed auto in the 2010 a lot better then the 4 speed auto my 2007 F-150 had.I raced my truck Today July 3rd.1st pass just pulled in the gate and they called trophy class ran right to the staging lanes and ran a 16.80 at 82.11 mph.Next pass cooled off a little bit ran a 16.66 at 82.86 mph.Eliminations come truck sat from 4:00 pm till 10 pm i dial a 16.50 ran a 16.5079 but went -.0152 red.Oh well i was ready to go home was at the track for 12 hours.
Later Mark.

Congrats on the build. Great numbers I'm hoping to get about the same numbers on my re-freshed A-headed 565. My "dream wheel" in my head is thinking 800 lbs ft at 6,200 and hope to carry 730 lbs ft at 7,200, single 1,200 carb and 13:1 comp. Should be on the dyno in a couple weeks.
I was wondering about your cam spec's ? Can you share any? I did notice it ran at 2* advanced on the dyno sheet. Did you guys move it around much with the Danny Bee? Do you recall the intake opening at 2* adv? My custom Crower roller is installed at 4* advanced, intake opening is at 30* as set now. ( 279/285 @ .050) .433 lobe lift w/ T&D 1.8 rockers.
Thanks for any info.
Once again great build.

Re: New bullet 1003 hp 810 tq P51
Knowing what has worked in the past with "A" heads, I would say you are a bit shy on valve lift and not enough exhaust duration for running that high but, what you got for a cam might work really well if the mid-lift flow numbers of the heads are extraordinary.

Yeah the cam is a bit small for the HP goal but the wet exhaust on the boat ( reversion is a killer when it sucks water into the engine). Danny Crower thinks it can pull it off, my low hp guess is 987 at 7,200 but will see. If under 980 hp I'll be disappointed with my calculations, but I'm looking more for 800lbs ft of trq at 6,200 than pure top end numbers.
The flow numbers on the heads are great(right at 450 cfm), these A-460's have a 66cc chamber, 2.4" Ti intake valve and a very active combustion chamber.

Is the column showing vacuum under the carb? If so, then this thing is wanting more CFM than the manifold and carb can supply? Do you think this is carb limitation only? Just curious, because it seems like there could be another 30-40 hp lurking with this monster.

That vacuum is CRANKCASE vacuum not manifold vacuum.

I wish I could have gotten more video last night, It got really high in the front every time I left at 4000 rpm last night @ 3800 it picks them up about two inches and runs the same 60 ft............ 4200 will put it on the bumper...............
I have 90-10 Lakewoods on the front, and need adjustable s for it to pin the front end down so I can get after it on the launch. My 60's are no where near what they should be for the E.T.
I will put limiters on for now to try to keep the nose down.
The engine miss was a high side chip that Lem told me to throw away and didn't, I chunked it and all is well now. (should have payed more attention)
It was hot as hell, and humid, bar sucked, If it runs like this in the heat I can't wait to see how it runs in good weather.

Wish I was closer, Snake, I'd be all over helping you out with that Pro Mod chassis. It would look nasty with a set of Bigger Digger paddles, and some cut Boggers on it.

We have a mud bog bunch here that run a 150 ft pit of disk up dirt with enough water to keep the dust down, man that would be a hoot with a chassis car and paddles..............
They have a tree and lights, nice set up.
