Blake, what was your 1/8th et and mph on this pass?
I think it was a 5.56 @ almost 125mph 1.24 60 ft.
Blake ... am I to presume that the fuel injection experiment isn't going any further...? Or is it...?
Re: Good night of testing
At 5,200 rpm it is my opinion that the conv. is too tight. I know that you have a dyno sheet that says that the peak tq. is at 5,000 rpm but in my experience I don't see how that could be the case.psfracer wrote:I have a 4600 chip in the 7AL2 now, thinking about going higher. It will see 5200 if I put on the transbrake with no chip and floor it for a second. I need to figure out the shocks to, they are strange double adjustables.
Anyway, I don't want to hijack this thread. But Blake obviously has things figured out with a 1.24 60' time. That is awesome.
At 5,200 rpm your engine makes 769 hp..........it makes 870 hp at 6,000 rpm.......that's where I'd want to be.
Re: Good night of testing
I think he plans to spray it, for a n/a deal it is too tight, and 3500#s dont make it any easier.

If a guy plans to spray the convertor........then it needs to be sprayed and quit worrying about the car being a slug w/o the spray.

I would still like to do a good A B test to see alky verses gas on injection, on a good efficient engine above 7000 rpm, just not enough time, or money................

I I was a mind to spray mine, I would not tighten the converter..............
My converter is going 6000 on the t break, I am leaving now at 3800. 4000 will give a big high wheelie and 4200 will put it on dang near on the bumper.
I am of the same opinion as lem especially with his car being 400 lb heavier. loosen the converter to around 6000 rpm.

I'm all about the looser converter in his application, if he is gonna spray the converter on a reg basis with a big hit it might be fine where it is...................that is if the mr frosty will get it whewre it needs to be...............but if its mainly a n/a deal then I would pull the converter out for sure.

Wallace calculator says it should be running close to 165 mph.

Re: Good night of testing
Sorry about the Wallace calculator, but I don't believe 165 mph. The Pitside Chart out of the National Dragster says it should be running 156 mph for an 8.75 e.t. If Blake is able to run an 8.76 e.t. @ "only" 152+mph, then IMO that just means he is an overachiever. Once he gets that front end down out of the air, then he'll run 156 mph.

Re: Good night of testing
my turd only ran 156 @ 8.77, that was with issues, but still
165 would be gettting into the 8.30 range

Re: Good night of testing
same as you brother..................when i made the 1/4 mile passes though it had a little taller tire, but it was only like a 100", and that was at 7680 rpm.
The other night in the 1/8th it went 129 at approx 7175 rpm,............... this converte over 7000 it gets real aggressive with the lock up. current tire is a touch shorter, I think i measure the rollout at 97".
4.29 gear.
IIRC our cars weigh the same, I'm at 3015 w driver attm

Re: Good night of testing
Blake doesn't have the Grande' aero package.
How the air goes under and over a car is a big deal.......I don't know how a 'calculator' can account for that even if he is the Governor of Alabama.

I don't understand that............. I only turned 7100 through the quarter and only 6500 through the eight.

Mine is spragless, but it won't make up that kind of difference between mph and rpm we have. Mine must lock up tight early
