nitrous stall
hey guys i'm new to this site and I need a little help on what nitrous stall I need? I have a 93 coupe with a 460 .30 over with a C-6 tranny.... 3.73 gears and the most I would be spraying would be a 200 shot but most of the time 150.. I really don't know much about the motor because I bought from a older women who's husband past away. Any help or suggestions would be great thanks.

Re: nitrous stall
List the specific details of the engine combination and what altitude you are at, and whether it's race-only with the spray all the time or not.

put some retracked tip plugs in it around a ngk9 and put the timing around 28, 100 + fuel and make sure u have enough fuel volumn good pump and hit it with 150hp and tune from there read the plugs

Re: nitrous stall
Cam specs will greatly help. What has the car run thus far? RPM range you want to run in?

Re: nitrous stall
That's my problem.. not sure what the cam specs are or what cam is in the car.. the car has run a best 7.76 in 1/8 mile and with the stall that's in it now i can only leave at 1800 rpms! I have turned the rpm up to 6000 that's as high as I have had it

Re: nitrous stall
What kind of mph did you run? That may shed some light on the power it makes... so I can at least get close with a recommendation for stall speed/etc for you.

It may be flashing there as it is, its impossible to measure flash stall speed w a footbrake.............on the hose.

26/10.5/15 and the trap rpm is 6000 if I remember right 60ft was a 1.7 I know I'm not giving much info but I've only been in the car three times so I'm not real sure about things

Re: nitrous stall
Looking at the et/mph numbers you have provided leads me to think you may be able to run a tight 8" converter and still have reasonable stall speed. The trick IMO is to run the smallest diameter core for a converter that still allows proper torque multiplication, stall speed, and efficiency. The problem I usually have is folks wanting to spray it now and then instead of all the time. You simply can't build a converter that's dead-on for those folks. It'll give up performance unless it's built for the exact need.

Re: nitrous stall
r u leaving with the hose or delay hit. does it blow the tires off on hose.what r 60' on motor and on hose. with 150hp hit it should pick up more then 3 tens. it pick up good mph 7mph. what is the size of your converter now 10" 11" 12"coupe460 wrote:7.76@96mph

Re: nitrous stall
Those numbers are on a 100 shot and its on a deley with the current stall I can only hold it up to 1800 any higher and it pulls through! The 60ft doesn't change to much cause I can't leave at a higher rpm

Re: nitrous stall
I wouldn't worry what you can stall it with a foot brake.........I can only hold mine to 2500 or so but it flashes to 6500...................I'd put the bigger shot in it and take the delay out..............if the tire will hold it. I dont think your converter is all the problems.

Re: nitrous stall
So you think it will flash up to at least 3000rpms I don't think I should spray it below that or should I?

Re: nitrous stall
x2 mine only footbrakes to 2200 and its a 4000 dont worry about 3000 before u spray put a wot switch on and leave on that. i leave with mine at 1800 on spray with wot switch put the 150hp hit in 26 to 28 timing 65n 52 f jets 5.5 fp 100+ gas. my setup is a dual shot buy nos 50hp with wot switch and 150hp .9 sec. delay with a digi-set my tires dont hold on launch with 150hp thats why i use 50hp on launchrichter69 wrote:I wouldn't worry what you can stall it with a foot brake.........I can only hold mine to 2500 or so but it flashes to 6500...................I'd put the bigger shot in it and take the delay out..............if the tire will hold it.
