Send that thing to VA for a little bit since you are still playing in the the sandbox. I'll get it a little dirty for you while my little deal is getting finished up

Re: Yet another 460 build......
I'm working on a little A headed 488 setup using aluminum rods and a 3.975 stroke crank. Thinking it will sound pretty mean spinning in the 8000 or so rpm range Did a little clean up on the otherwise as cast heads. Now wondering if it would be worth putting a little more effort in porting them. Just don't want too much port volume with the small dispalcement and end up being a dog.

New style or old style heads? What size valves.
Valve job and throat size is paramount.
Also you need to start thinking about TItanium valves if your going to spin it like that.

Re: Yet another 460 build......
New style tfs 340's, 2.350 in and 1.88 ex valves. Bought them off here last year and did some checking to see exactly what was what. They have titanium intakes and stainless exhaust. Spring package (Manley Nextec's) was set up for solid roller cam, but will make sure the pressures are correct when I order the new cam. My local machine shop (Performance Machine, aka George Cox) just got his flow bench back together and we will use my old heads you did to to make sure everything is right, then put the new heads on and go from there.

It's a set of Fab Shop headers that the late Tim Murphy did for Phillip.....they've worked on everything Phillip has installed them on.

LOL It would appear that way, but I'd be willing to bet a smaller set of 2 1/8 - 2 1/4 steps with a smaller collector might make a tad more.

Are you willing to buy a set to find out?

Having a merge collector and the size there of makes a lot of difference what primary pipes will work.

And you wouldn't have had the opportunity to try the Chevy headers without a set of Uncle Charlie's "Ford to Chevy" header adapters You should "love me" and therefore buy me breakfast.
By the way FABIO, you still owe me $225 for the set you f'ed up Dave had to use a brand new set, because those that you messed up aren't usuable. I'm still mad at you Keep your day job and don't you EVER try to port match anything again What did you use Paul Bunyon's axe Talk about a bull in a china shop

Re: Yet another 460 build......
Yeah, well what you do, is port match them to the heads, NOT the headers That way the "ledge", going from the header back into the port acts as an anti-reversion step
Make you a deal Paul Bunyon. I promise not to ever build transmissions, if you promise to never port match again.
