Distributor phasing?
Picked one up on racingjunk and didn't see the hole in cap at one of the terminals. Seems like I've heard of this term 'phasing' and drilling the cap was part of it. But I don't follow. Can someone explain this?

Drill a hole at your #1 terminal. Start the engine and put the timing light over the hole and it should light just as the rotary button passes by the hole.

You have to phase it in when you use a crank trigger..

Re: Distributor phasing?
Rotor phase refers to the alignment of the rotor with the terminals on the dist. cap. It's done when using a crank trigger, since timing is adjusted at the trigger insted of the diz.

Re: Distributor phasing?
We wondered if it was a "bad-ass, cranktrigger race thing" thing. So on a crank trigger deal you just move the pickup to adjust timing and get rotor to fire in the center of the terminal? Did I just repeat what you told me? Thanks for the insight dudes!
