how to fix my oil pressure
ok so my oil pressure gauge shows nothing and i can hear the rockers tapping and i have hydralic lifters so my hp is cut way down but when i went to replace the pump i seen oil dripping from all over and when i put the new one in and started it, its doing the same thing still. and btw i have no clue what my engine is i just know the block is d1ve-6015 a2b, i forgot what the heads r but its something like d3ve something a2a and my connecting rods have 16s on one side and ae-c9ae-b on the other. can some one plz help me?

Does the gauge work? Even a wore out ol 460 should show a few lbs of pressure at an idle and will show a little more at higher rpms.

Id make sure it didn't shear the roll pin on the distributer gear or break the timing chain...
it wouldn't run though if either if these is broken.

I'd buy a new gauge first and and see what it says.

Re: how to fix my oil pressure
if your pan is easy to get off check the rod and main bearings is this a new build or is this a old engine that has been running if it a new build make sure all the oil gallery plugs are in it I have been down that roads back when i was in my teens rebuilt a 302 and put it together without the plugs in it put 2 oil pumps in it before I decided to pull it apart pulled the timing cover and then seen the missing oil plugs

Re: how to fix my oil pressure
I'll give ya my 2 cents here .. Check to see if you have a collapsed lifter, That would give you the tic tic you hear and explain the loss of power .. I don't think the lifter can jump out of the bore if the push rod is still in place . but it can jump up enough to open the oil port to the lifters.

Re: how to fix my oil pressure
I bent a pushrod once and lost a lifter and it made a pretty good racket besides losing oil pressure. It would still make about 20 psi at highway speed also.

Did you pull a rod and main caps off and check your bearings if not that is what we are saying it sounds to me your bearing is gone but like was said check your oil filter
