new slicks needed any recomendations?
car weighs 2800 runs 5.80's ladder bars. the car now has mt 33x15x15 tires now tires were run with way too much air for too long and the middle of the tires are gone. Any suggestions on some that would work best?

I like Hoosiers on a big tire car. I ran Goodyears for years, but some of my friends have switched to Hoosiers and they like 'em a lot. Figure I'll be switching, too.

I run 33X15 Hoosiers. Work well.
For your car.....Hoosier 14.5WX32.....part # 18260 This tire actually specs by tape measure at 15" X32.6" 102.5" rollout. It's a stiff sidewall tire that will work well with the weight of your car. They will last you a long, long time running 5.80's. I ran them on my car and only went to the 15X33 because I needed a little more rollout to lower my finish line rpm a bit.

Small tire door car, M/T or Hoosier.
Big tire door car N/A, M/T or Hoosier.
Big tire door car + power adder, Hoosier.
Also, it's possible that the air pressure numbers you were using might not be too high (if the car was hooking good before) since excessive center tread wear can also be from running a rim that's too narrow vs a slick's tread width.

Rims are 15" wide. I think it was too much air presure that wore them out. Before i got the good chassis tunning advice from the board members I had to run high air presure to get the car to go strait. Now that the suspension is lined out I was able to run a lower air presure but the middle of the tires have no more wear indicators and don't even pick up pee gravel.

David beat me to it. I run either the Hoosier 14.5 32 W that he describes or the Hoosier 15X33. Same deal...went to the 33 tire when I first installed my 605 and had trouble getting it down the track. I am getting ready to buy a new set of Hoosier 15X33s to test the 618 engine with.
