Block numbers

I bought a BBF Today. Was told it was a 475hp/429 thunderjet. If anyone can tell me what a set of numbers mean. I'd really appreciate it. The block #3Z632319 and the head# D3VE A2A. Anyone?

Ford never produced a 475 hp Thunderjet. If your engine is indeed a 429, then it is a 1973 429 which is the lowest power of all 429 engines made by Ford. Just a 7.5:1 compression ratio, and perhaps 250 hp net, +/-.

Measure the stroke, or get the crank code. 2YA, 3YA etc.

Your vin reads as follows-1973 built mercury from the st. louis plant. ps they only built full sized cars at that plant.
