460 lincoln engine into 85 f250

Engine is out of 70's Lincoln (supposedly) put into 85 f250. Has 184 tooth flywheel 460 starter. Starts but breaks starter nose while running.

460 starters are different for auto vs manual,, here is the article, maybe it will help....

You say flywheel so I am thinking its a manual trans .......... Pretty sure you have to use the 85 flywheel and knock the weights off of it .......... 0 Balance. There is a thickness difference in the flywheels from old to newer style and that may be your problem.
