selection problem
what I have is a c6 that I have been running for a couple of years and recently I changed the Art Carr valve body with Frank Merkyl unit.
the detent lever in the box was removed when we installed Frank's unit, as it was still there with the previous one.
when I am in the burnout it will select 3rd fine and on jack stands running through gears it hits 3rd but in race mode it physically will not shift into 3rd.
so it even will not engage and slip or anything like that it just wont let the shifter rachet to the 3rd shift, but engage if you drive back on the return road.
oil is clean, vb set at 140psi, also checked cable and selector and it all appears goods and positive on shifts when on stands.
any ideas would be a help.

Re: selection problem
you should have a min of 180 line pressure and you have a shifter or a cable problem , the pressure valve is probably stuck open but you should still have 3rd
Frank
give me the # off the vb and I'll look it up and tell you what the line pressure was when it was dynoed

Re: selection problem
thanks Frank, but it does look like a cable problem and I am replacing the cable today.
the specs that came with your unit stated 140 pound.

Re: selection problem
reading build sheet information without my glasses is not a good idea, Franks spec sheet read 240 line pressure.

Re: selection problem
Be good just to see what the pressure is now . I see Frank mentions at the front test port . Frank does that differ from the test port on the servo cover in 2nd gear ?
Check that cable good . Friend had some issues with a PG not selecting. Was brand new shifter and cable . Something about was either a B+M fat cable or skinny cable or something has issues ???
