Casting Slag in 429 Engine
Well this is my third time deburring the casting flash in my 429 build.
1 time on the crank
2nd time on the block
3rd time on missed block areas.
Enclosed is a pic of looking down the distributor hole and finding very sharp, thin areas that I deburred.
Be very carefull and take a long shank die grinder tool and smooth those areas that have been left by the sand casting. You do not want them to float around your engine after the rebuild.
Here is a pic after the smoothing.
Happy rebuilding!
