Yes sir.
Re: New 7 liter engine from Ford...???
Please Ford....make this a crate engine !
The sooner, the better
* Simple one cam in block
* One spark plug ( that does not go thru the valve cover )
* Thick deck on the heads
* Roller cam and rockers
* Forged crank

They're going to be available in the F250 on up through the medium size commercial vehicles. Apparently the idea is to make it so fleet managers only have to deal with one engine in a range of vehicles they manage.
Should make them plentiful and cheap in the secondary market.

I wonder which blower company will be the first to design a supercharger that will fit down in that area under the intake ?
Looks to be lots of room

With the current arms race taking place in the pony cars, I wouldn't be surprised to see this thing end up in a Mustang or something with a blower.

Ford just threw the aftermarket a hanging curve ball.
Here's hoping they will swing and offer mount kits, etc for classic cars much like they have for Gen3 Hemi and LS engines.
Please, please, please, please

Will this be the new go to engine instead of the LS? darn sure looks impressive, with alot of potential. Has anyone heard about the new GM gasser? Saw a mention of it in a video.

The heavy iron block would have to be taken into consideration (for production use in a Mustang )
Possible tho, because they used iron blocks for the 5.4 engine in the 07-09 GT500 Mustangs.
The fact that the overall width saves room will be a huge plus so the extra few pounds of iron may end up being a non issue.
I have a 2011 F250 with the 6.2 and that iron block is huge

It looks like that could be a great crate engine for my Econoline Project.

Wonder how long before a supercharger kit will be available.

It will depend on how well it is received on the consumer end. If it becomes a popular option then it would be within the first year or two. Who knows someone like Whipple may already be working on an intake and drive system.
The layout does lend itself well for supercharging. Intake is dry and configured with straight down ports. No china wall to worry about sealing. Now after going back thru the pics I did find one point very interesting. The injector port is located in the head not the intake!!
Now if you want a roots style blower you maybe waiting awhile. Intake design wouldn't be complicated just time consuming. Additional fuel would need to be added on the topside.
My vote is for something like a Whipple as it is simplistic in terms on mounting and driving. Fuel mods would be an injector swap and fuel pump upgrade. How big of a Whipple that all depends on what market segment they want to target, but I am sure you could always step up to bigger.
