manley 11586 in a DOVE head

Hello, has anyone installed manley 11586 5.725 OA length in a iron DOVE head? Stock are 5.244 (almost sure of that length).
Shims, taller spring (I only want about 450 open at .750) ??

.100" long all the time however, certainly not a 1/2 inch long.

It's hard to believe you are building anything with those heads that would require such a valve...especially with the open spring pressure and max lift you noted. Further, you could not use a BBF rocker arm even if you did install such valves....although a 20-degree SBF 1.7 ratio rocker arm could work well. Lastly, the rockers would be so high up on the 2.500" long studs that...wiggle-wiggle-wobble  ...and where will you ever find a stud girdle?  

I do know that 2.200" installed height springs can be fitted to D0VE heads and that's as extreme as I'd consider (when actually necessary).

The 11586 is 0.500" physically, but 0.600" long in effect if you take the difference in tip length into account.

Easy enough of a response...

You can use +.100 valves to get a little more spring height.
