help with block ID? Empty help with block ID?

Local fellow has a block with the C9VE-B stamp, claims it is a 429 from a 1970 Torino GT.

Wants 150 for it and it is standard bore. Good block worth building?

thanks

Matt

It's an early block with a shorter deck height. It would be a fine choice for a build depending on the goals. What are you looking to build out of it?

If you want to buy a stroker kit, a D1 block would give you a little more deck material to square down to 10.300". Also, $150 sounds a little strong. Depending on where you are located, they should be available for $100.

Mid sized stroker for a nasty street car motor. Maybe run it as the track 2-3 times in its life.

Good for that or look for another?

Its fine Block for a build and the price is fine as long as its clean and has now issues that need repaired.
