Sorry for the luck Dan, on the bright side you built a hell of a car to take a lick like that and keep you safe.

That sucks.
Man that sucks Dan. That thing is nice. At least you are OK. Race cars can be fixed. Good luck with the rebuild.

Just feel lucky to be able to still drive it in the trailer. I'm a little sore, but not as bad as I figured I'd be. Thanks for everything guys, it means alot to have friends when this shit happens. It's got to have a rear wheel ,the whole passenger side gotta be fixed ,front and back end ..Wheelie bars are bent, fuel pump is leaking, and alot of sheet metal work....plus any unseen stuff.....almost saved it ,just got too far down track when it swapped ends. It hit the wall at about 340 feet. It's just been a shit year all around....it'll get better
Dan-O,
I saw the picture on my cell this am and have been trying to call. Good to hear that you are not wounded too bad.
Call me if there is anything I can do to help.
I have a bit of a thrash this week getting ready for the NHRA Unleashed race in ATL next weekend.
I can take a day or 2 off and come up there if needed. Still in Kansas City...on the way home.
Later.....
Keith

Wow, very happy you didn't get banged up too bad, sounds like you went on a high pucker hell ride! Hate to see the damage to Tweety, but 'glass and steel can be fixed, and you certainly know how to do it right.

Did you find out what caused it to trun on you? Just track prep or suspension breakage?

Re: Hobbs Hit The Wall....
Just a crap weekend all together, I had a close encounter myself Friday night, and a 10.5 car smacked the wall hard yesterday. I guess we don't realize just how much power and fast these cars really are.....you get so used to it I rekon. We had 140* track temps before the sun went down, combine that with some power and you have a recipe for disaster.

Just learned of your bad luck
Dan; I was really sorry to hear about your bad luck at Jackson last night. Derek was just telling me what happened and man that was awful. I hated that I was not there last night but I have missed some races here lately because of health issues but hope to be back at the track within 3 to 4 weeks if all goes well. It would have been great to have been there and talked with you and Randy as we did not make it to the Bash this year. I truly hope you get your car fixed soon and can pick up where you left off, winning!
Re: Hobbs Hit The Wall....
What a night . . and morning . . we finally got home about 6:15am! First there was Dan's accident, our shifter problems in qualifying, and Derrick Anthony's fuel issue, plus four or five other DDS cars had engine problems before the night was over. We were really proud of Derrick getting one of the Ford's in the semis, since we are so out numbered by those other brands.
Here are a few pics I took of Dan's car and the marks he left behind on the wall.
