I can't tell for sure, but they look like a used 10 bolt head to me. You've got a new 18 bolt block, why not step up to an 18 bolt head,,,,and do a better job of holding the head gasket when you "miss" on your nitrous tune-up?

I wish I had 18 bolts but this engine came with the 10 bolt heads with pretty good port work already done to them. The engine was a used set up.It came from one of the guys who races a limited street car.Pretty much just used the block and heads.I just couldn't afford to spring for a new set of 18 bolts.
I hope not to miss on a NOS set up that bad .I'm usualy pretty consevative on tunes.

Ward it looked like a new block to me, so I didn't know it was a used engine. No problem though, you've got what you've got and I'm sure you'll make the best of it.

As for "missing" on our nitrous tune-up, I believe many of us do, it's just that most people don't want to talk about that part.Very Happy Heck, I even know some people that miss their alky tune-up and blow head gaskets and split cylinders, and kill starters.Very Happy:twisted:

I do understand Charlie's concern about the "18" thing but, the 'fuse' is between the intake valve relief and the root of the top ring groove.

Most folks don't believe that I'm pretty light on the NOS. I have a big system but I am not very agressive with it.Ak Barney and Yellow Horse they know what I run. Heck I'm getting old this motor should make most of what I need with out juice. They did make the block look new though. I'm sure it will be a good piece. The guys that had it only ran it a short period of time and lost funding.I have no funding only what I can spend out of pocket so I have to go with what I can afford.

I even heard of people making intake spacers that come apart and messing more than the tune up:D:twisted:

I have heard about that build. Is that the same one with the high-flow Stromberg or Ford 94 carb.??
