harmonic blanacer?
Got a buddy that has a 557 with a bryant billet crank boss length with a romac balancer my question is the only way to get it to run is to drop dizzy in at the 180 degree mark could the balancer be wrong or something else be wrong. Thanks for any help

The Bryant snouts are keyed 3/16" rather than the production damper's unit's 1/4"....that's the 1st thing to check.....do not use a 1/4" keyway on a 3/16" key.
All of the Bryant keys are inline and not 180* out like the production crankshafts.

Yes ... I would say that the woodruff key slot and the crankshaft key don't match one another.
Re: harmonic blanacer?
Put the Romac deal on Ebay.....does not belong on a Bryant billet crankshaft i.m.o.
Get a damper that is keyed for the application.

Re: harmonic blanacer?
I put my BHJ balancer on a Bryant in my 514 a while back. I made an adapter key the put the 1/4 keyway balancer on the 3/16 Bryant crank. It worked great, but it had to be timed on #6.
As long as you make an adapter key that fits both keyways correctly, it will work.
If the 1/4" balancer is on the 3/16" crank, disaster is on the horizon.
Hope this helps.

The FRPP A460 & A521 dampers have a cleaver and simple solution......they are keyed the std. 1/4" & 3/16" 180* apart allowing them to be used on either style snout and keeps TDC in the usual place when used on the 'Boss' snout.

It goes back to the original print that Ford Motorsport/SVO provided when they sold the A600 stroker kits years ago. That's why Bryant did it. Why the Ford engineer wanted it that way I don't know.
Re: harmonic blanacer?
Lem which balanacer would you recommend of the 2 frpp he needs internal balanced and 4 bolt pulley. Small block pulley.
