Damn Dave and so close too ! Ya gonna finish the build before you sell it ? Hey i know what...the next time your running up the I81 you can stop off at my house hear in Southwestern VA..and drop that motor in between the frame rails of my 70 F250 ! I was so hoping to see the numbers on that dude too.. Sorry to here about the move tho.. But as many know jobs are hard to come by these days..and ya gotta hold on to what you have.. Good Luck Bud !

Got some headers from Blake......Just need some motovation....... Talked with a couple of locak guys about getting it on the pump for some tuning and break-in......... my be in Mid-Late March of so.... We'll see.....

Damn Freelander, Thats sure does look nice for a self claimed "just Pieced" together motor...Have ya thought about what your gonna put it in yet ? I got a 70 F250 over here just dying to have the FE jerked out and BBF dropped in...

I'm sure it could be yours for the right price.

Going to put it in my Race Car for the Bash.

Should have it on the Dyno Today.... Stay Tuned.

Ended up with 681hp @6700 and 607 Ft Lbs @5100

With 33 degrees timing, 94 / 96 jets and 2" headers

Will post a full pull when I get home.

Cams to small and intake needs ported...... leaving alot on the table........

Nice Dave!!! I wonder what it would have pulled with my cam in it. This coming winter, I'll have to pull it out and send it to you so you can make a few runs with it and see.....

I was thinking about having something else ground, then when I started thinking about what lobes I wanted then it started to snowball...... Need New Springs, New Retainers, Etc...... Kinda started straying from the "Cheap Skate" Theme....

Total Spent is about $4000 on the Engine, With out Headers + The Dyno Time.

I'd think a typical back yard gear head could make 600+ for well under $5000 (Real thrifty ones could probably do it for under $4000) or about $800 +/- per 100hp !!

For someone contemplating a build like this........ The Heads / Induction are the biggest return for investment and where you don't want to cut corners, next is the Valvetrain, Flat tappet stuff will get-r-done too, but roller stuff is better if you have the budget.

Pick the "Right Stuff" !!!

Other good Lessons buy only from Trusted Sources and know what your looking at, being educated is paramount when wanting to get a good bang for the $$$ spent.
